In November 2023, Woonerf received the Science Based Targets (SBT) for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) certification for its Green House Gas emission reduction target.<\/p>\n

This means that our reduction targets have been verified by the SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative) *1<\/sup>, and we have committed to setting near-term emission reductions*2 <\/sup>based on climate science in the SBTi.<\/p>\n

*1\u3000SBTi is one of the We Mean Business (WMB) initiatives, jointly managed by four organizations: CDP, the UN Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI), and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The initiative defines and promotes best practice in science-based target setting, offers resources and guidance to reduce barriers to adoption, and independently assesses and approves companies targets.<\/p>\n

*2\u3000Near-term targets outline how organizations will reduce their emissions, usually over the next 5-10 years. These targets galvanize the action required to achieve significant emissions reductions by 2030. Near-term targets are also a requirement for companies wishing to set net-zero targets. \u25a0 Our GHG emissions at the time of application and reduction targets<\/strong>
\nCalculation period at the time of application: January to December 2022
\nScope 1 (direct emissions): 0.0958 tCO2e\/year
\nScope 2 (indirect emissions): 7.44 tCO2e\/year
\nBased on 2022, we will reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 42% by the target year of 2030 (SBT 1.5\u2103 level) and will work to measure and reduce Scope 3 emissions in the future.<\/p>\n

By receiving SBT certification, we will strengthen our position as a pioneering and leading sustainability company and make a company-wide effort to take climate change issues more seriously.<\/p>\n
