Arc Japan Inc. is a company that operates a data platform (Arc) for monitoring the environmental impact of real estate and supporting the decarbonization of society. It was jointly established in February 2021 by Woonerf Inc., Development Bank of Japan Inc., and Arc Skoru, Inc. in the United States.

This time, due to a merger, the ownership of Arc Skoru Inc., one of the co-investors in Arc Japan Co., Ltd., has been transferred to Green Business Certification Inc.™ (GBCI®). Consequently, the investors in Arc Japan now consist of three entities: Woonerf Inc., Development Bank of Japan Inc., and GBCI®.

The change in ownership of Arc Skoru Inc. in the U.S. was conducted with the aim of streamlining the operations of the Arc business and supporting further growth of its data platform. Arc Skoru Inc., established in 2016 by GBCI®, is dedicated to making the sharing of performance information more transparent for owners, operators, and residents through benchmarking and measuring performance.

GBCI® continues to support the enhancement of Arc’s core functions, while maintaining partnerships with global leaders to promote data-driven decision-making and action in key priority areas such as risk assessment, resilience improvement, ESG reporting, decarbonization planning, and efficiency analysis.Arc plays a significant role in advancing health, equity, resilience, sustainability, and the prosperity of all life and communities, contributing to the performance tracking and reporting goals of GBCI®.

Woonerf Inc.,Development Bank of Japan Inc., and GBCI® are committed to further expanding the reach of Arc within Japan as well.
